ANSWERS:
Traces-1 Where
was the device set off?
Grid cell
number of where the device went off:
66x31 (0, 0 Top
Left)
Short Answer:
At
approximately tick 380 an explosion went off at the location marked with an E
and shaded in orange (Cell 66x31) as indicated in Figure 2.
We determined
this location by the following factors:
·
The
majority of people in this area stopped moving and did not leave the area.
·
The
direction people moved after tick 380 (light blue arrows). The vectors do not
cross and move away from this area.
The one
exception is the area marked with a C and shaded in yellow. At approximately
tick 587, people stopped moving thru this corridor and exit area. We speculate
the cause as toxic gases from the first explosion due to the erratic movement
of tags 60, 65,69,47,78 and the fact that tag 39 kept moving toward this area.
Figure 2: E and shaded
area in orange denotes location of explosion.
Traces-2
Identify potential suspects and/or witnesses to the event.
Note: Potential suspects and/or witnesses are people
who were near the area just prior to the explosion and exhibit suspicious
behavior
List of RFID tag
numbers :
1; 18; 21; 28; 29; 36; 38; 44; 80;
Short Answer:
The above
RFID tags correspond to people who were within the area of the explosion and/or
moved towards the corridor to inspect what happened and then continued to leave
the building.
RFID tag 80
Joshua Sanchez office was adjacent to the area of the explosion and exhibited
no behavior of curiosity to what happen next to him. However, he immediately
left the building at the closest exit.
Our prime
suspect is RFID 21 as Ramon Katalanow moved into the room of the explosion and
left promptly to another corridor away from the explosion. Then Katalanow
re-enters the same corridor as the explosion before leaving the building.
Tags Gale Welsh (18) and Franisco
Salter (36) did not move during the entire period and tag 18 was in the room of
the explosion. Since the lack of movement (99% of the entire period) and the
distanced travelled is about one unit, these two should be considered prime
suspects.
Tags 29 and 44 are suspects as they
walked quite far to be in area to the bottom right before the explosion. An
advantage as these two suspects only had to move a short distance to escape the
building. Further investigation is needed to determine why they were so close
to this exit.
Traces-3
Identify any suspects and/or witnesses who managed to escape the building.
List of RFID tag
numbers :
1; 18; 21; 28; 36; 38; 80;
Short Answer:
The fact that Gale Welsh (18) and
Franisco Salter (36) travelled only 1 unit for the entire period makes them
prime suspects that need investigation further.
Are the two suspects RFID tags broken? Did the suspects leave the tags
on a desk purposely? Did they die before the incident happen? The main
witnesses include tags 1, 21, 28, 38, 80 who were near the explosion and
escaped the building.
Traces-4
Identify any casualties.
List of RFID tag numbers :
18;19;36;39;47;50;56;59;60;65;69;76;78;
Short Answer:
The above
RFID tags showed no movement from ticks 692 to 837. Tags 18 and 36 showed no
movement for the entire period and may have been killed before the explosion.
Traces-5
Describe the evacuation
Detailed Answer:
At
approximately tick 380 an explosion went off at the location marked in orange
and the letter E (Cell 66x31) as indicated in Figure 2. The majority of people evacuated to the southwest corner
of the building, marked as EV1 in Figure
3. At the time of the explosion, these people were working in the yellow
area marked with an E in Figure 2.
EV3 (light blue area) denotes the location of the explosion where the majority
of casualties occurred instantly, but also is the exit where one of the prime
suspects RFID 21 Ramon Katalanow left the building. People within the EV4 area
had the shortest distance to escape the building. However, RFID tags 29 Maxwell
Lopez and 44 Karissa Graham walked quite far to reach this area just before the
time of the explosion. These two people should be included as suspects. The
remaining area EV2 also had casualties determined by the lack of movement after
tick 675. The possible causes of these deaths include a secondary explosion, or
toxic gases from the explosion at tick 380. A yellow circle with letter C
denotes the location of these casualties in Figure 2.

locations where people escaped.
